Former World No. 5 Tommy Robredo has returned to his first final on the ATP Challenger Tour since September last year facing Christian Garin of Chile in Sunday’s title match of the €43,000 Lisboa Belém Open.

Robredo rallied past No. 6 seed Sebastian Ofner of Austria 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 on Saturday afternoon. The 36-year-old Spaniard saved three of the five break points he faced, capitalizing on four of his own chances to secure victory in one hour and 56 minutes.

By reaching the final in Portugal Robredo will return to the top 200 on Monday. The veteran could lift his fifth ATP Challenger trophy, his first since 2012 in Caltanissetta.

Later in the day, Garin battled past Pedro Sousa from Portugal 5-7, 7-5, 6-4. The 21-year-old Arica native won five points less than his opponent but broke serve six times to prevail after one hour and 56 minutes. Robredo emerged victorious from the only previous meeting between the two at the ATP Challenger in Santiago.
