Anderson To Face Karlovic In Tata Open Final

Ivo Karlovic becomes the oldest ATP finalist since Ken Rosewall in 1977.

Top seed Kevin Anderson avenged last year’s final loss to Frenchman Gilles Simon to reach the title match of the 2019 Tata Open Maharashtra. The top seed from South Africa fired 21 aces and saved nine of the 10 break points he faced en route to a 6-3, 7-6(3) win on Friday evening in Pune.

Anderson finished the encounter in one hour and 48 minutes to face Ivo Karlovic. The big-serving Croat fought past Belgian veteran Steve Darcis 7-6(3), 4-6, 6-3. Karlovic sent down 33 aces winning 54 per cent of the total points played to prevail after one hour and 55 minutes.

Anderson owns 3-1 head-to-head record over Karlovic. This will be tallest ATP singles final with 6’11” Karlovic, 6’8 Anderson.
