Confidence Man And Total Giovanni Set To Light Up Coopers Saturday At Australian Open 2019

Australian electro-pop quartet Confidence Man and Total Giovanni are the latest additions to the stellar line-up for the AO Live Stage at Australian Open 2019.

Both acts will feature on the popular Coopers Saturday, always a highlight of the 15 days of music at the Australian Open.

Coopers Saturday will take place on January 19 at the AO Live Stage located at Birrarung Marr on the middle terrace.

The infectious dance acts will join the already awe-inspiring line-up which includes:  Angus & Julia StoneBastilleBirds of Tokyo, Conrad Sewell,Craig DavidDean LewisJetThe Teskey Brothers and You Am I. More big-name local acts will be confirmed shortly for the AO Live Stage by Australian Open 2019, Tennis Australia and Mushroom Events.

Australian Open Tournament Director Craig Tiley said Coopers Saturday is becoming an important tradition at the tournament that is set to continue.

“We are excited to have Coopers Saturday back as part of the 15 days of music at the AO Live Stage,” he said.

“Confidence Man and Total Giovanni are sure to be a hit on the middle Saturday of the tournament, on a day that many of our patrons look forward to every year.”

Cam Pearce, Director Marketing and Innovation at Coopers Brewery said:“This is Coopers third year as official beer sponsor of the iconic Australian Open and we are delighted to be featuring two new beers for tennis fans to enjoy in Coopers Session Ale and Coopers Dry on tap and in cans along with Coopers Pale Ale,” he said.

“We are especially excited to see such strong support for our home-grown musical talent on Coopers Saturday – this year headlining with the indie electro-pop group Confidence Man, at AO Live Stage.  

“After an extensive tour in Europe, we are looking forward to welcoming Confidence Man home and to the Australian Open.” 

Sugar Bones of Confidence Man said the band were very much excited to perform in Melbourne, where he and the lead singer Janet Planet reside.

“We are super excited, it’s always a great day and full of energy and the  crowds are always pumped,” he said.

With 15 days of live music, entertainment has really become an important part of the Australian Open over the years and the line-up this year has something for everyone.

The AO Live stage is situated at the middle terrace of Birrarung Marr and will feature an improved shade structure, further enhancing the experience for music and tennis fans. The line-up so far is as follows, with further announcements to come.
