A one-off performance by the Voice For Change initiative will take place at the AO Live Stage on Sunday 13 January at Australian Open 2019.
Voice For Change is an significant initiative that has been developed by The Mushroom Group and supported by the Victorian Government.
The initiative sees aspiring teenage performers across the Melbourne suburbs of Melton, St Albans and Tarneit teamed up with some of Australia’s best urban and hip hop musicians including Adrian Eagle, and MoMO, through workshops, recording opportunities, and performance coaching.
The group will be on the AO Live Stage at 3.30pm on Sunday to perform accompanied by Eagle and fellow musicians Krown, P-UniQue and supported by DJ Mat Cant, in what will be a landmark day with the Australian Open concert supporting the official charity partner Beyond Blue taking place.
Australian Open tournament director Craig Tiley praised the Mushroom Group for creating the Voice For Change initiative.
“The Voice For Change performance will be wonderful to see at the AO Live Stage, and the Australian Open is proud to support this innovative and important community initiative,” he said.
Michael Gudinski AM, Chairman of The Mushroom Group, is 100 per cent behind the initiative.
