Cedrik-Marcel Stebe and Liam Broady will play Sunday’s singles final of the inaugural €44,820 Internazionali Di Tennis Citta di Parma. The No. 7 seed from Germany rallied from a set down to overcome Frenchman Quentin Halys 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 in the stage of the final four.

Stebe withstood 15 aces from his opponent and broke Halys’ serve three times to prevail after one hour and 52 minutes. “It was a very good match,” Stebe told Italian journalist Matteo Mosciatti and was pleased with his performance. “He started off very well and I didn’t use my first two break-point chances, but he served very well and also played well from the baseline. He is a very good player. I am just happy to be through.

“This will be my last tournament of the season. I was scheduled to play the qualifying at the Sofia Open but I will be happy to close the season with a win. I could move closer to the Top 100 again. I just try to focus on the match tomorrow and then we will see.”

Earlier in the day, Broady also had to go the distance to fight past Italian lucky loser Andrea Arnaboldi. The 26-year-old Briton fired 15 aces and won 53 per cent of the total points played to secure a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory in one hour and 55 minutes.

“I feel great. It was a fantastic battle out there against a fantastic player and I am really happy to be in the final,” Broady said.

World No. 141 Stebe eyes his eighth ATP Challenger career title, his first since Sibiu 2017. Following seven title wins on the ITF Pro Circuit, Broady could lift his maiden trophy on the Challenger Tour in first final since 2019 Leon, Mexico. The pair will meet for the first time.
