Tomas Martin Etcheverry took the title of the Citta Di Trieste Challenger, an €44,820 clay-court tournament hosted by the ASD Tennis Events FVG by Tennis Club Triestino in Trieste, Italy. The No. 3 seed emerged victorious from Sunday’s all-Argentine singles final against qualifier Thiago Agustin Tirante, winning 6-1, 6-1.
Etcheverry beat compatriot Camilo Ugo Carabelli, Dutchman Robin Haase, Vitaliy Sachko from the Ukraine and Kazakh qualifier Timofey Skatov en route to the championship match.
The 22-year-old La Plata native was in total control of the final. Etcheverry didn’t face a break point and converted five of his own 13 break-point chances to succeed in one hour and 14 minutes.

By lifting his second ATP Challenger trophy following his maiden triumph in Perugia, Italy one month ago, the World No. 368 collected €6,190 in prize money as well as 80 ATP Ranking points.
Brazilians take doubles title
On Saturday, Orlando Luz and Felipe Meligeni Rodrigues Alves captured the doubles title. The top-seeded Brazilian duo edged past No. 2 favourites Antoine Hoang and Albano Olivetti from France 7-5, 6-7(6), 10-5. The encounter lasted two hours and five minutes.
Luz and Meligeni Rodgrigues Alves split €2,670 in prize money and collected 80 ATP Doubles Ranking points.
