STARNBERG, November 16, 2022 (Guest Post)

With only days to the 2022 FIFA World Cup organized this year, the 32 teams participating have already finalized their teams, and Betway soccer punters are ready to wager on the matches. While the World Cup will be a great moment for soccer fans, tennis fans might feel a little left out in the merry. Fortunately, several tennis tournaments will be hosted during the World Cup period for both men and women. These tennis tournaments include:

2022 Davis Cup Finals

 When: 22-27th November 2022

 Where: Martin Carpena, Malaga, Spain

The Davis Cup Finals will be hosted from the 22nd to the 27th of November this year. The tournament ties will be hosted in best-of-three formats and played on a single day (two singles and a double).

Nine of the World’s top 20 men’s tennis players will travel to Malaga, Spain this month, where eight countries will battle it out in the popular knockout format. Following the group stages in four cities across Europe in September, the top two teams in every group have already booked their tickets. That includes Spain, Italy, Germany, Croatia, Netherlands, Australia, Canada and the United States.

Leading online sports bookies like Betway will allow punters to bet on the 2022 Davis Cup Finals as World No. 13 Pablo Carreno Busta steers the Spanish team to their seventh victory. However, the United States will be a strong contender for this title, led by World No. 9, Taylor Fritz.

Montevideo Open (WTA)

When: 21st – 27th November 2022

Where: Montevideo, Uruguay

Held in Montevideo, Uruguay, the Montevideo Open is part of the professional women’s tennis tournaments, the WTA 125 series, played on clay courts. In 2022, the annual outdoor tennis competition will feature 32 singles and 16 doubles, with $115,000 in the prize pool. This tournament will be hosted from 21st – 27th November.

This year’s Montevideo Open tournament will be staged a week after the Buenos Aires WTA 125 tournament and the ATP Finals are hosted in Turin, Italy.

Open Angers Arena Loire

When: 5th – 11th December 2022

Where: Angers, France

Another tennis competition at the WTA 125 level, this professional women’s tennis tournament, will take place at the indoor hard courts present at the Arena Loire Trelaze in Angers, France. The Nicolas Mahut-directed tournament will have $115,000 in prize money, featuring 32 single draws and eight double draws.

This year’s tournament will feature three-star French female tennis players, including Clara Burel, defending champion Vitalia Diatchenko and the former Australian Open winner. Last year, Diatchenko surprised fans by outmatching the World’s 24th player Shuai Zhang in two small sets. As such, the defending champion can skip the qualification process for the main draw, expected to feature the best tennis women like Sofia Klein and Marketa Vondrousova.
